5 Songs You Should Download ASAP!

By Emma @ itsemmaelise.com

Waking up every morning for school can definitely be a pain. But I’ve learned that listening to some fun music can definitely make the morning a bit more tolerable. Here are my picks for some new music that you should add to your playlists, right now!

1. “All Night” by Icona Pop
Icona Pop’s last hit, “I Love It,” is just starting to feel a bit overplayed on the radio. But have no fear, because the Swedish duo has released this new single. It’s a must-have for any fall party playlist. In addition, Icona Pop will be releasing their new album, This Is…, on September 24. So be on top of the music scene by playing “All Night” on repeat, before it even hits the radio!

2. “Baby, I” by Ariana Grande
Thanks to her last hit, “The Way,” we already had figured out that Ariana Grande is this generation’s new Mariah Carey. Her newest song doesn’t disappoint, and her vocal range is still amazing. The song maintains her R&B-meets-pop sound in this hit, which is perfect for when you’re driving around town with the girls.

3. “Roar” by Katy Perry
There will be no more blue wigs, a la “California Gurls,” for this singer. But her music is just as catchy as ever with her new hit. This song encourages the opposite of staying quiet. So rock out to it with friends before a big game or pep rally!

4. “Royals” by Lordes (US Version)
Lordes is a 16-year-old from New Zealand, and lately, she’s been topping the charts! As her first single, “Royals” has already reached the #1 spot on the Billboard Alternative Song Chart. She’s actually the first female to grace the top of the chart in over 17 years! (Note: That was before she was even born.) Recently, “Royals” has been played on more mainstream, top hits radio stations across the US. It’s a cool tune to relax to while hanging with friends.

5. “Ways To Go” by Grouplove

Based upon the success of their last hit, “Tongue Tied,” it’s obvious that Grouplove has mastered the art of creating upbeat songs with a mellow feel. The group’s newest song has a carefree vibe that is perfect for lifting your mood after a rough day.

Hunter Hayes: Thoughts On Dating

Dating is no simple feat, even for Hollywood hotties. Hunter Hayes is a country star that has been nominated for three Grammys. The attractive singer makes girls across the country swoon. Hayes has been reported talking about love, dating, and heartbreak. So here is the scoop!

The Girl Who Inspired Wanted
Hayes made a mark with his hit single, “Wanted.” And there’s a story behind those love lyrics, according to the singer:
Wanted was about a girl, whom I was friends with. But at the time, it was teetering on something more. I wanted to show her that I really cared about her. Wanted was my way of saying that we were friends with a great foundation, and that this could be something special.”
So what happened with the girl behind the song? Hayes explains:
“The song was everything that I had wanted to say to her. But I chickened out, and didn’t play it for her for the longest time! She only recently found out that it was about her. We laugh about it now.”

True Love Means Taking Risks
Another one of Hayes’ songs, Heartbreak, was also written with a specific lucky girl in mind. The country boy said:
Heartbreak is definitely about a specific girl as well. The song was my attempt to twist the phrase, ‘Be Mine,’ into something that was almost borderline depressing. If you’re going to be somebody’s heartbreak, then be mine.”
Hayes got the idea to write such a song, based on the belief that love requires risks. He said:
“Basically, I was thinking about how I understood that the relationship probably wouldn’t have worked. I realized that it was a bit lofty of me to be dreaming of her and I ending up together. But, on the off chance that it would have worked, then I would want to have been the person that fought for it and believed in it.”

Befriend Your Ex
Hayes believes that it is possible to be friends with an ex or anyone else whom you’ve had strong feelings for. As he put it:
“I think it is healthy to be friends with an ex. Some time must pass first. But afterwards, why not be buds? You both had a hard learning experience, and for some it was harder than others. I get that.”
So what are the hottie’s thoughts on those harder situations? He elaborated:
“What you went through shapes who you are now and who you’re going to be. You should be thankful for that. Even though sometimes the situation really sucks, you have to look back and be grateful that you had the experience.”

Hunter Hayes’ Ideal Girl
The singer seems to be single, but likes well-rounded girls. As he said:
“I don’t have a girlfriend. I don’t really have a type. I like girls who are driven. I really care my music; so I like a girl who cares about something as well. And I’ll be their biggest fan, no matter what it is that they’re passionate about.”
Hayes also prefers a confident lady, as he elaborated:
“Confidence is also important to me. I struggled with lacking self-confidence for quite a long time. But I think that it is important to be strong and to not compromise your beliefs for anyone or any relationship. I’m drawn to that in a girl.”

Taylor Swift Deserves All That Recognition
Hayes toured with Taylor Swift, and was impressed by her professionalism both on and off stage. He was also surprised by one other thing:
“She’s tall! I didn’t realize how short I was for a guy until I toured with her. But honestly, she is highly respected in the country world as an extremely talented singer/songwriter, as well as an incredible entertainer. She solidified both of those beliefs for me. I watched every show on every night. In New York, I joined Taylor, Selena Gomez, and James Taylor on stage. And this was my first tour with somebody! I would say that’s not a bad way to start! It was awesome.”

Style Spotlight: Cara Delevingne

Hello everyone, I'm Grace and I blog on over at Belle Mode. Yes go on... hop over there after you have read this post by all means. My lovely blogging bestie Estelle, who is also the Social Media Manager of this amazing blog has asked me to post on this wonderful blog. Of course I said yes... I'm not one to turn great opportunities down! So I thought I would so a Style Spotlight. This is where you pick a celebrity who's style you are loving right now.
I am currently loving Cara Delevingne's style right now. I think she makes so many outfits look perfect and effortless.

The leather jacket crops up twice here. I love how she styles her outfits. She can make a leather jacket, jeans and simple top look effortless and truly amazing. The middle photo i am assuming is from a shoot as her hair is tied back very slick and tightly but she even pulls off the really oversized coat look.  I love how she always wears converse and boots with what she wears.

Her beanie look. Here Cara is wearing a bright blue beanie which looks uber cool with her outfit. She also has on a vintage Levi's Denim Jacket which looks so great on her. Again with the plain black converse.

Here Cara is mixing two prints together which is very daring but she pulls it off perfectly. The Army jacket with the tartan shirt tied round the wast really works with the ankle boots and green beanie hat. Yet another wonderful look Cara!

Now I have in fact spotted Cara in full dungarees before but unfortunately I cannot find the picture which is typical because it would of been perfect in this post. As I spotted Cara in dungarees I decided to do my own little Cara Style.

I hope you enjoyed this post and I will be looking forward to maybe seeing some of you chit chat readers over on my blog? Thank you for reading and hopefully see you soon!

September Letter from the Editor: Meet the New Girls at Chit Chat!

Hey girls!

With August coming to an end, most of us are anxiously finishing up summer reading, preparing for the new school year, and trying to soak up those last rays of sun 'til next year. Whether you're starting your last year of middle school or first year of college, our September writers have some great tips for you all!

I've been spending some time this summer preparing to be the brand new Editor-In-Chief of Chit Chat! I suppose I should introduce myself...

My name is Signe. That's pronounced like [SIG-nee]. (You'd be surprised at how many people think the 'E' is silent!) You'll learn all about who I am and who I want to be on my blog, a Classy State of Grace. Oh, it would be nice if you could follow me too- it's got a bit of a lack of followers at the moment! :( I started a blog in June of 2012 called Significantly Styled. I stopped posting on it around last November and then created a Classy State of Grace in March of 2013. My current blog has been a blast and given me so many opportunities.

I'm 15 years old and will be starting my sophomore year in high school this fall. I live in Wisconsin (in a suburb of a major city, thank god).
So, here are the big things...

- I love fashion. I dedicate a big part of my life to it. My style is a mix of trendy, bohemian, feminine, sophisticated, European, and quirky.

- I am a singer and a songwriter! I also play guitar and piano.

- I love theatre and am really involved in my school's program, in addition to choir. I used to be a ballet dancer but I quit to do this.

- I love to write. I want to be a writer of some kind when I grow up.

- I love to travel! I've been to over half the states in the U.S. and eight countries outside of it.

The extra details...

- I love cats
- I'm a total Type B
- I'm addicted to tumblr
- My favorite food is Italian bread
- I cut my own hair
- I DIY a lot of my clothes
- I buy something about once a month
- I have a 13 year old sister
- I'm obsessed with Taylor Swift
- I can be unaware of inappropriate social behavior
- I'm very independent
- I don't break the rules but I make my own

I'm so excited to be here at Chit Chat. It's going to be so much fun!

xx Signe
